Salil Sethi

Dr. Salil Sethi received his medical degree at the University College of Medical Sciences, India in 2007. He completed his Masters in Public Health at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He graduated in Internal Medicine Residency from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in 2012. Following which, Dr. Sethi received his sub-speciality degree in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology at the University of Texas Health Center in 2016. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Interventional Cardiology, Endovascular medicine, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and Internal Medicine. He is a registered physician in vascular interpretation (RPVI). He specializes in performing high risk coronary and peripheral vascular procedures. He also performs advanced structural cardiovascular interventions and does procedures such as Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), Watchman, and Patent foramen ovale/Atrial septal defect closures. He joined Cardiac Solutions in February 2021 and serves as the Chair of Structural Heart at Banner Thunderbird.
Rahul Sharma
MD, FACC, FSCAI
Dr. Rahul Sharma is an interventional cardiologist with expertise and experience in structural heart and valve disease. He previously completed his internal medicine residency and chief residency at Penn State University, cardiovascular medicine fellowship at Wake Forest University, interventional cardiology fellowship at University of Florida-Jacksonville, and an additional year of fellowship in structural heart disease at the Swedish Heart & Vascular Institute in Seattle, WA. For the past three and a half years he served as an interventional cardiologist and Assistant Director of the Structural Heart Center at Carilion Clinic, as well as Assistant Professor of medicine at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in Virginia. He then joined Cardiac Solutions in April 2021 to help expand and grow cardiac services in the Phoenix metro area. Dr. Sharma performs minimally invasive interventional cardiac procedures such as cardiac catheterization, coronary stent placement, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacment (TAVR), percutaneous mitral valve repair with the MitraClip device, and left atrial appendage closure with the WATCHMAN device for patients with atrial fibrillation who cannot take a long term blood thinner. He also performs patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure and atrial septal defect (ASD) closure for indicated patients. Dr. Sharma's patient care philosophy is to show the utmost compassion in the delivery of health care while providing cutting edge guidelines based treatments.
Dr. Sharma is a procedural proctor and helps train other physicians on various structural heart devices. He is a committee member of the national Structural Heart Disease Council for the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI). He is on the editorial board for various Cardiology journals, has published several papers within the field, and has engaged in several pivotal structural heart research trials.
Brian Perlmutter

Dr. Brian Perlmutter completed his medical degree and residency from the University of Arkansas for Medical Science in Little Rock, Arkansas. He completed his fellowship training at the University of California Los Angeles School of Medicine in Los Angeles, California, and he completed he interventional fellowship at Indiana Heart Institute at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indiana. Additionally, Dr. Perlmutter obtained is PhD in Physiology and Biophysics from the University of Arkansas. Dr. Perlmutter is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. He has been practicing medicine in Arizona since 1995 and joined Cardiac Solutions June 2021.
Mark Burns

Dr. Mark Burns completed his medical degree at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He completed his residency at the University of Toronto Canada Adult Cardiology training at Dalhousie University Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada. He then completed his Electrophysiology training at the University of Toronto, Canada. Dr. Burns is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. He has been practicing medicine in Arizona since 2001 and joined Cardiac Solutions April 2021.
Michael Amponsah

He completed his Internal Medicine, Interventional Cariology, and Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at Rutgers University/Newark Beth Israel medical center, New Jersey. He completed his Executive MBA in Healthcare from the University of Pittsburgh, PA
Dr. Amponsah is fellowship-trained in structural heart procedures including heart valves (TAVR), left atrial appendage occlusion (watchman), coronary artery stenting as well as management of peripheral arterial disease. He also diagnoses and treats the entire spectrum of adult cardiovascular diseases including coronary artery disease (heart attack), irregular heart rhythms, heart failure, hypertension, and high cholesterol
He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Adult Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology.
Dr. Amponsah joined Cardiac Solutions in 2021 from Conemaugh Health Systems in Pennsylvania where he served as the director of the interventional cardiology service as well as the lead physician for the TAVR program.

An Arizona native, Dr Freeman was born with complete heart block and has had a pacemaker since the age of nine. This launched his curiosity into the field of medicine and electrophysiology.
Dr. Freeman attended Medical School at A.T. Still University in Mesa, AZ; Residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ; General Cardiology Fellowship at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, NE; and Electrophysiology Fellowship at The University of Kansas in Kansas City, KS. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Electrophysiology.
Dr. Freeman specializes in all aspects of electrophysiology including ablations, left atrial appendage occlusion devices, implantable defibrillators and conduction system pacemakers.
